  1. I started reading this but found my mind wandering after a while. There seems to be a lot of inner monologue and not enough interaction with other characters or anything much going on outside the narrator’s head. I know it was included in the Booker Longlist, which was why I picked it up in the first place. I wonder if it gets better after a few more chapters? I really don’t want to give up reading it, but so far, there’s nothing that makes me want to continue…..
