It’s time for another Classics Club Spin. To participate, post a numbered list of 20 books from your Classics Club list (here’s mine) before Sunday, October 19. Classics Club will announce a number on that day, and that determines the book to read before the 21st of December.
I no longer have 20 books left on my list, although I have neglected it shamefully, so I have to repeat titles. In fact, I have exactly 10 books left to read. Here’s my list for this spin:
- The Tavern Knight by Raphael Sabatini
- Love’s Labour’s Lost by William Shakespeare
- The Deepening Stream by Dorothy Canfield Fisher
- Tis Pity She’s a Whore by John Ford
- The Methods of Lady Walderhurst by Frances Hodgson Burnett
- The Princess of Cleves by Madame de la Fayette
- Les Misérables by Victor Hugo
- Cecilia, Memoirs of an Heiress by Frances Burney
- The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas
- Our Mutual Friend by Charles Dickens

Good luck to everyone! I hope you get a book you enjoy.

I loved Our Mutual Friend and The Three Musketeers and would like to read The Tavern Knight. Good luck!
Thanks! I believe I read The Three Musketeers when I was babysitting in high school! Can’t remember much aside from the movies! My Sabatini is so far limited to Scaramouche, I think.
Usually I say “I hope you get…” but this time I’m going to say “I hope you DON’T get… Les Misérables!” 😉
It might make me miserable!
You’re very brave putting Les Mis on your list, but may be that’s the way to deal with it; no lingering time!
That’s the idea. I have to read it if they pick it.
Hm… only ten books! Well, you’re coming down to the wire. Maybe you need to add new books to your list?
No, I’ll just finish the list and make a new one.
Yes it is an interesting challenge when you get to the last ten of your 50 Classics List, whether to start adding books from your new list or to duplicate them in order to finish the first list… I think I have bout 40 to go so between now and then I’ll work out what to do 😀
I never even thought about adding to the list. I think I’m on my third list now, and I just do a new one when I get done. It gives me a sense of accomplishment.
