This week’s Best Book is Swamplandia! by Karen Russell.
I hope everyone got a chance to enjoy the postings for Literary Wives this week, too!
This week was a tough one, with a close competition between Beautiful Ruins, and a nonfiction book, a fascinating explanation of earth forces. For once, I pick the nonfiction, Annals of the Former World: Basin and Range.
First, those of you who have looked closely at the blog the last few days might have noticed a new feature. Under the List of Books, I have added links from the title of each book directly to its review. This feature should make it easier for you to find the reviews of books that interest you. I’m sorry I didn’t do it sooner. I thought it would add all of the links into my comments section, like it does when I put links to my blog articles in other articles. However, I have figured out how to avoid that, too!
Now, on to the Best Book for the week, which this week is Brother of the More Famous Jack by Barbara Trapido!
This week was a tough one, because Bridge of Sighs is a very good book. But for sheer reading enjoyment and excitement, I have to pick A Dance with Dragons by George R. R. Martin.
This week’s Best Book is Sweet Tooth by Ian McEwan.
Hi, all, I realized last week that if I continued reviewing books at this pace, I would soon run out of my backlog of notes about books I’ve already read. (No, I do not read this many books a week!) If I catch up, then I won’t be able to post reviews except as I finish books, which will make my review postings a lot less frequent. I am trying to post as often as possible. So, starting today, my Best Book post is going to count as my daily post intead of being supplementary to a review. I will not number it, though, because I count my “week” as every five reviews.
Thanks for reading my blog!
