Every once in a while, I mention that I’m reading about islands again. For some reason, I have always drifted toward books set on islands or in other remote locations. So, I thought I’d do an extra post for fun, listing all of the books set on islands that I’ve reviewed since I started the blog. I’m not going to count New York City or the main lands of the British Isles, because there would be too many (or any Game of Thrones books, set on mythical Great Britain), or Australia, since it is a continent. I hope I don’t forget any of them.

Do you like books set on islands, or am I just weird? Which of these have you read?

That’s an impressive list! Now that I think about it, I’ve read a lot of books set on islands too, including some that you’ve listed here. They can be very atmospheric settings, particularly for crime novels.
Yes, I think so.
Gosh, you have read a lot! I’ve read a few of your British ones and the Oland books in your Scandinavian section but not much more. Haven’t you read Peter May’s Lewis trilogy? They would seem to fit in perfectly…
No, I haven’t. That sounds interesting.
This is a great project and a wonderful list of books. I understand why you didnt include Australia but started thinking of all the titles that would fit into the project, especially authors like Tim Winton, who always seems to be standing on the edge of where the land meets the sea. Of all Australian authors he captures our closeness to the coast and the sea, encompassing our way of life. I have taken a note of many of your titles. Thanks Kay
Oh, good! I’m glad you found it helpful. Maybe sometime I’ll do a topic on the islands I left off, although England will be a long list.
